Dear Friends,

November 28, 2025, the day after Thanksgiving and I'm trying to decide whether to put up my full-sized Christmas tree this year. I don't have any dinners or parties planned, not that one won't pop up and sometimes it is a nice break to just hang a fresh wreath on the front door, bank the mantel with magnolia and pine and holly and put my little kitchen tree up and be done with it.

That is still a lot, but I love the Christmas season, so I always enjoy decorating.

It is also my calendar shipping season and that keeps me busy not that I am complaining, I am grateful for my business.

The 2026 Photo Calendar, the 2026 Desk Calendar and the 2026 Dachshund Calendar are all ready to go and they are going out the door especially since Christmas is a round the corner.

The calendar designs this year- for the 2026 calendars, are based on designs I have run across while traveling from delicate French embroidery spotted at the wonderful Paris Flea markets to 17th century doll house furnishings of Petronella Oortman at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

As my art teacher and fellow traveler Mary Neely says, "What we see while traveling informs our art."

I collect design inspiration all year, whenever I see a beautiful tile, an interesting color combination in a cafe, a vibrant vintage dress...

endless design, endless colors and beauty all around. I find that my eye is looking for it always. My traveling buddies will also point out 

intriguing motifs and patterns, "Oh Alice, look at that edging..."

I could write endlessly about art and color and design and travel, but I'll stop for now and check back in soon with more on the same topics.
